Why buy newly produced eyeglass frames instead of antique or used frames?? 

Plastic frames can become brittle over time.  Old plastic frames may crack or break when prescription lenses are inserted into the frame.  Also, aluminum was widely used in the production of cat eye style frames in the 1950's and 1960's.  Aluminum is very soft and can scratch and mar very easily.  This is why aluminum is now rarely used in the production of new  eyeglass frames. 

So.....buying new vintage inspired and retro inspired eyeglass frames and eyewear is the better way to go to achieve the look you are after!!
